Hypothetical Dead Me

Mollie’s current project, “Hypothetical Dead Me,” is a chronicle of the ins and outs of mental health and its far reaching effects. The collection consists of free verse poems of various lengths and on topics ranging from relationships to the simple emotional effects of watching a sports game. While the collection does not have a single topic, the character of Hypothetical Dead Me – a personification of the anxious mind – appears throughout to remind the reader of the universality of emotional experiences. Mollie writes in a minimalist style, hoping that her work will be accessible to a wide audience, even appealing to those who may not have read poetry in the past. She hopes that “Hypothetical Dead Me” will bring out the magic that is emotion in moments where they may typically not be found.
